REAGENT PREPARATION FOR DETERMINATION OF PHOSPHORUS IN SOIL
0.5 NaHCO2 Solution:
Dissolve 42 gm of Sodium
Bicarbonate in 500 ml of Hot Water and Dilute to 1.0 Lts. Adjust pH to 8.5 Using
Dilute NaOH or HCl
1.5 % Ammonium Molybdate Solution:
Dissolve 15 gm of AR Ammonium
molybdate in 300 ml of warm water, cool and exact 350 of 10 N HCl. Make
the volume to 1.0 Lts.
40 % SnCl2 Stock Solution:
10 gm stannous chloride in a
100 ml of glass beaker. Add 25 ml of Conc. HCl and dissolve by heating. Cool
and store in an umber coloured bottle in dark, after adding of a small piece of
Zinc Metal AR to prevent oxidation
From Stock Solution prepare a
dilute SnCl2 Solution
(.5 ml dilute to 66 ml in
D.W.) Immediately before use.
